Applying as Talent
  • Who can apply to BreakoutCasting?
Anyone who is 18 years of age or older and interested in working as a model, actor, voice artist, body double, parts model, or in any of our other categories. We welcome complete beginners with no experience as well as established working professionals. All backgrounds, body types, and experience levels are encouraged to apply.
  • Is there a cost to apply?
No. Applying to BreakoutCasting is completely free. If you are approved, accessing casting calls and being found by productions is also free. We offer optional paid visibility tools for approved talent who want to boost their profile, but these are never required to use the platform or receive casting opportunities.
  • Do I need prior experience or an existing portfolio?
No experience is required. BreakoutCasting was specifically built to give fresh faces a legitimate way into the industry. If you have existing credits or a portfolio that is great, but we evaluate every applicant on their current presentation and potential, not just their history.
  • How long does the application take to complete?
Most people complete their application in about five minutes. The form has four steps covering your personal information, your talent categories and experience level, your photo uploads, and the final agreement. You can save your progress and come back to it if needed.
  • Can I apply if I live outside the United States?
Yes. BreakoutCasting is based in the United States and accepts applications from talent worldwide. We work with productions internationally and actively seek talent from all regions. Your location is collected on the application so we can match you with relevant opportunities in your area as well as remote and international projects.
  • Can I select more than one talent category?
Yes. The application asks you to select all categories that interest you. Many talent work across multiple categories. An actor might also do commercial modeling. A parts model might also be interested in body double work. Select everything that genuinely interests you and we will match you to relevant opportunities across all of them.
Photos and Materials
  • Do I need professional photos to apply?
No. Natural, unedited photos taken on a phone in good lighting are completely acceptable and often preferred by casting directors. What matters is that your photos are recent, accurate, and clearly show your face and full figure. Heavy filters, retouching, and professional styling can actually work against you at the application stage.
  • What photos are required and what is optional?
    Two photos are required:
    • A headshot facing forward in natural light with minimal makeup and no heavy filters.
    • A full length photo showing your full figure. Fitted gym wear or a bikini for women, gym shorts or fitted clothing for men, in solid neutral colors.
You may upload up to three additional optional photos including a side profile, an additional angle, or any existing comp card or portfolio work. The photo guide on the application page shows exactly what each shot should look like.
  • How recent do my photos need to be?
Photos should have been taken within the last 12 months and should accurately represent your current appearance. By submitting photos you confirm they are a current representation of you. Approved talent profiles may be flagged for photo renewal if materials become significantly out of date.
  • What file types and sizes are accepted?
JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats are all accepted. Maximum file size is 25MB per photo. Photos taken on modern smartphones are typically well within these limits. If your file is too large, free compression tools such as Squoosh.app can reduce the size without visible quality loss.
Approval Process
  • How long does approval take?
Every application is reviewed personally by our team. You will receive a decision notification at the email address you provided within 48 hours of submitting your application. If you do not see a response after 48 hours, check your spam folder first then contact us at applications@breakoutcasting.com
  • What happens if my application is declined?
You will receive a notification that we are not able to offer representation at this time. We are not able to provide specific feedback on declined applications. You are welcome to reapply after six months. A declined application does not mean you lack talent. It may simply mean the timing or fit is not right at this moment.
  • What are you looking for when reviewing applications?
We look at whether the submitted photos clearly show the applicant, whether the profile information is complete and consistent, whether the selected categories are appropriate for the applicant, and whether the applicant has genuine commercial or artistic potential in at least one category. We do not require a specific look, body type, or experience level.
  • Does approval mean I am represented by an agent?
Approval means your profile is live on the BreakoutCasting platform and you have access to verified casting calls. BreakoutCasting is a casting platform, not a talent agency. Some approved talent may be invited to explore formal representation through our partnered agents separately. This invitation happens based on booking activity and is not guaranteed by platform approval alone.
Privacy and Security
  • Who can see my photos?
Your photos are never posted publicly or visible to the general public. They are accessible only to BreakoutCasting agents for review purposes, and to verified production companies and casting directors when your profile is matched to a specific casting need. All productions who access your profile must complete our verification process and agree to our confidentiality terms first.
  • Will my photos be used for AI training?
Never. Your submitted photos and personal information are strictly prohibited from use in AI training, machine learning datasets, synthetic media generation, or any purpose outside of direct casting review. This prohibition also applies to any production that accesses your materials through the platform. It is written into our Terms of Use and every production agreement.
  • Is my personal information sold to third parties?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, social media platforms, or any third party not directly involved in a casting process. See our full Privacy Policy for complete details on how your information is handled.
  • How do I delete my profile and all my data?
Email your deletion request to support@breakoutcasting.com from the email address you used to apply. All submitted materials including photos, personal information, and profile data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. No questions asked.
  • How are my photos stored?
Photos are transmitted using TLS encryption and stored with AES-256 encryption through Uploadcare, a secure file infrastructure service. Access is restricted to authorized BreakoutCasting agents and, for approved talent, verified productions on a need-to-know basis only.
Talent Categories
  • What categories does BreakoutCasting cover?
We currently represent talent in the following categories:
    • Actor — Film and Television
    • Actor — Commercial and Brand
    • Fashion and Editorial Model
    • Commercial Model
    • Parts Model — Hands, Feet and Legs
    • Parts Model — Body and Torso
    • Body Double
    • Body Painting
    • Voice Artist
    • Stand-In and Fit Model
  • What is the difference between Parts Model Hands, Feet and Legs versus Body and Torso?
Hands, Feet and Legs covers standard commercial parts modeling where the hands, feet, ankles, or legs appear in advertising for products such as jewelry, footwear, nail care, hosiery, and technology. This is entirely standard commercial work with no sensitivity considerations. Body and Torso covers modeling of the midriff, abdomen, back, or chest area for categories such as fitness brands, healthcare communications, and beauty campaigns. This category involves a higher level of exposure and requires additional consent documentation once a talent is approved. You may select either or both depending on your interests.
  • What does body double work involve?
Body double work means appearing in place of a named actor on a film, television, or streaming production in shots where the actor's face is not visible. Clothed body double work involves appearing in full wardrobe and is standard production work. Specialty body double work may involve a higher level of exposure and follows strict protocols including closed sets, intimacy coordinators, and full written consent documentation before any booking is confirmed. Talent select which type of body double work they are open to during onboarding.
  • Can I change my selected categories after I am approved?
Yes. You can add or remove categories at any time by contacting support@breakoutcasting.com. Adding categories that involve higher sensitivity levels requires a brief conversation with your agent to ensure you have full information before any submission is made on your behalf. Removing categories takes effect immediately.
Casting Calls
  • How do I find and apply to casting calls?
Once your application is approved, casting calls matching your categories and location are distributed to you directly. You can also browse the active casting board and apply to any listing that fits your profile. All casting calls on BreakoutCasting come from verified productions only.
  • Are all casting calls from real verified productions?
Yes. Every production that posts a casting call on BreakoutCasting has completed our verification process including business identity confirmation, project documentation, and a signed confidentiality agreement. No unverified production has ever been granted access to talent materials on this platform.
  • What should I do if a casting call seems suspicious?
Contact us immediately at support@breakoutcasting.com. Describe the listing or communication that concerned you. We take every report seriously and will investigate immediately. Red flags include requests for direct personal contact outside the platform, requests for payment, or requests for materials not consistent with the stated role.
  • Will I hear back after applying to a casting call?
Productions review submissions and contact talent they want to progress with. Not every application results in a callback and this is normal even on the best platforms. We send you confirmation that your application was received. If a production shortlists your profile you will be notified and next steps will be communicated through the platform.
Productions
  • How does a production get verified?
Productions submit an inquiry through the Productions page. We verify your business identity, project details, and require a signed confidentiality agreement before granting access. The verification process is completed within one business day and is a one-time requirement per production account.

This is standard practice for major productions casting before announcement.
